Our story: serbia

My name is Mira and I am 20 years old. I was born and raised in a Roma family. I got married only last year. As you may know, it is very common for girls in the Roma community to marry young. However, I am very thankful to the Lord that my husband is also a Christian and together we are able to serve the Lord.

My mom is a Christian as well, and growing up she always brought all of us children to church. So we grew up with the desire to know the Lord and to continue our education at the school. For a long time she has listened to your Roma programs and she continues to do so today. She has learned many important things from your programs. One thing she learned from you was the importance of education for children. My mom didn’t really have a profession herself, however she told me that her greatest desire was that I would continue going to school and learn as much as I could. In our community most of the children do not go to school, and it is not encouraged. After finishing the 8-year school, my mom encouraged me to continue my studies and learn a language. So I had the opportunity to finish high school and I learned English.

I am so happy and thankful to God that I was able to complete my education! Thank you so much for all of your programs.
